2nd February 2010

•  First, we would like to thank all of those who came to last Saturday’s sell-out Anniversary Gig at the SQ Club in Coventry.  The distances some travelled to be there (Cornwall, Sussex, Lancashire, Nottinghamshire, North Wales, etc., etc.) proved beyond doubt that the music created by legends such as Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Vince Eager will never die;

•   Every act performing on the night generated an enthusiastic response from the audience:  Vince Eager supported by legends Colin Green and Brian ‘Licorice’ Locking; Ervin Travis and the Virginians remembering Gene Vincent and Peter Jackson re-creating Eddie Cochran pulled out all the stops to create an electric atmosphere;

•  We will in due course be adding a few pics taken on the night to the website, together with video clips from the evening.  Feel free to send your own pics (jpeg format please) to us and we will endeavour to include them and give you a mention.  Please call us on 077 1197 6497.  Also if you have any comments about the evening that you would like to share with others then please submit these via the website ‘CONTACT’ page.  Many thanks.

10th December 2009 -

•  A bonus!!  Many thanks to Maggie Sampford of MAGGIE’S BLUE SUEDE NEWS’ Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine for supplying some great pictures of the CC Jerome and The Jet-Setters/RJ gig.  Check them out in the GALLERY - Backstage/Onstage section of the website.

22nd November 2009 -

•  Thanks to all those who braved last night’s atrocious weather to come along to a gig where first class entertainment was provided by CC Jerome and The Jet-Setters from Holland.  Also making a major contribution was RJ (who normally fronts a band called RJ and The Phantoms and also comes from Holland).  Just proves that bad weather, The ‘X’ Factor and ‘I’m a Celebrity....’  cannot hold back those who enjoy a lively night of Rock n’ Roll/Rockabilly.  A special thanks to our friends who travelled from further afield - Home Counties, Leicester, Birmingham, etc.

• A few more photos have been added to the Band and ‘Fanscene’ sections of the website ‘GALLERY’ - can you spot anyone you know?

•  Another ‘BIGGY’ coming up!!  28th January 2010 marks the 50th Anniversary of a truly memorable event when Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Vince Eager played in Coventry as part of a UK Tour.  Also on the bill was Tony Sheriden.  Billy Raymond compered.  Sadly, Eddie died as a result of a car crash at the end of the Tour.

Our own commemorative gig will take place on Saturday, 30th January 2010.  It will be held at The SQ Club, Whitefriars Street, Coventry and feature one of stars of the original Tour - Vince Eager.  Vince will be backed by his own band Rockola.  Als on the bill will be Gene Vincent Tribute Band Ervin Travis and The Vagabonds from France (Ervin is reputed to be one of the most authentic Gene Vincent ‘sound-alikes performing today) and bass player Brian ‘Licorice Locking’.  Brian, who was also on the original Tour has an impressive CV, including playing with Cliff Richard’s Shadows for some 18 months, backing Marty Wilde, etc., etc.

Also agreeing to appear on the bill is Peter Jackson.  Peter is currently touring with the Tribute Show ‘Rockin on Heaven’s Door’, playing the part of Eddie Cochran.

•   Thanks to all those who came along to the Jaguar Cars Sports & Social Club last Friday to see Jack Rabbit Slim.  The night was a brilliant success with the band playing to a packed venue!

•   Although initially not the easiest place to find the new venue was undoubtedly a hit with those we spoke to particularly as it provided trouble-free parking.  As and when we use it again we will try to provide a map beforehand.
